CAFS (Compressed Air Foam Systems) are advanced firefighting solutions that utilise compressed air to create a powerful foam that effectively suppresses fires. Functionality: CAFS systems mix compressed air with water and foam concentrate, generating a dense foam that adheres to surfaces and penetrates fires deeply, providing superior fire suppression capabilities compared to traditional water-based systems. Applications: They are particularly effective for flammable liquids, oil and gas facilities, mining, marine vessels, and various industrial environments. CAFS can be used in remote and mobile applications, requiring no external power source. Advantages: CAFS systems are self-contained, use significantly less water, and provide immediate foam generation when needed, making them ideal for critical industries like oil and gas. Technology: The systems operate using nitrogen or compressed air, creating a foam that acts as a barrier against fire, smothering the flames, and preventing oxygen from combining with fuel.
